What is CCTV?

CCTV also known as Closed Circuit Television is a closed system consisting of video cameras, display devices or monitors, and wireless or wired data networks that allow you to transfer images from video cameras to monitors. Also, an added benefit is that video surveillance systems can be integrated with security systems as well as other information systems.

How does a CCTV camera work?

CCTV works by the camera or cameras taking a constant sequence of images that are then transmitted by cable connection or wirelessly (dependent on the selected system type) to the recording device and then on to the display monitor, which enables an individual to see the string of images as video footage.
